Just in time for spooky season

I am THRILLED to see my story Black Mass at Denny’s in the latest issue of No Contact. I can’t get over the artwork they made for it. Incredible.

Here are some fun facts about the piece:

  • I thought of the title before I started writing the story, which almost never happens to me.

  • This, too, was inspired by a section of Mina Loy’s “Songs to Joannes,” specifically these lines:
Or broken flesh with one another
    At the profane communion table
Where wine is spill’t on promiscuous lips

  • I’m doing pretty well on that “What we want” list from the fifth paragraph—though I’ve still never worn color contact lenses, and I haven’t quite seen a UFO. How do you define “rager”?

Anyway, if you enjoy stories about the inner lives of teenage girls and also stories about Satan, this one’s for you. Happy Halloween!
